This issue features new essays on Christina Stead, edited by Anne Pender. The essays draw on material that has only recently become available and discusses Stead's difficulty acknowledging her husband's dying and her relationship with her agent. Stead is seen as a "writer's writer" and as a political writer. In addition, we publish for the first time some correspondence between Stead and her husband.
