We are one of the most over-governed countries for 21 million people, and one of the highest taxed nations in the world. Where do all the taxes go? Towards running a bloated bureaucracy.

Australia has four tiers of government: the monarchy, the federal government upper and lower house, the state government upper and lower house, and local councils, and all the costs that go with it. O'Rourke says if we removed the duplication of two tiers, the monarchy and state government, this would dramatically reduce the costs to Australians.
