This account is, I know, very different from those of Aboriginal experiences in regions where the invasion by white Australians was characterised by genocide and enslavery. There are many different Aboriginal histories to be written, but even in situations of extreme brutality and white domination, Aboriginal culture showed remarkable resilience and a transformed Aboriginality survived.
